Introducing Observation Reports – A Smarter Way to Spot and Solve Issues On-Site

At One.site, we're building a suite of tools to make health and safety on construction sites simple, proactive, and accessible to everyone. And our latest release is designed to do exactly that.

Observation reports are now available - giving anyone on-site the ability to quickly and easily flag what they see. Whether it's something done brilliantly or something that's gone wrong, reporting it takes seconds, and the right people are notified immediately.

No App. No Login. No Barriers.

We've made reporting easier than ever. Just scan a "Submit and Observation" QR code posted on-site, and you'll land in a lightweight web app - no login needed.

From there, it's as simple as:

  • Selecting something good or something bad
  • If bad, choosing between unsafe act or unsafe condition
  • Adding detail, location, and any support photos or videos.

Once submitted, the site manager is alerted and can take action. Updates are logged in the report, and once the issue is resolved, the original reporter gets a notification with a summary of what was done.

It's clear, accountable, and closes the loop - every time.

The More We Report, The Less We React

Our belief is simple: if we can increase the number of observations raised, we can reduce the number of incidents.

It's based on the well-known accident triangle theory, which suggests that for every serious incident, there are hundreds of minor issues or near misses that go unreported. We want to flip that. By encouraging more reporting at the bottom of the triangle, we help prevent what could escalate at the top.

This is about creating a culture where people speak up - because everyone has the right to work in safe conditions. And right now, the industry is behind when it comes to reporting observations. We think that's about to change.

One Tool in a Bigger Toolbox

Observation Reports are the latest in a growing suite of health and safety tools from One.site - all designed to help you run safer, smarter construction sites without the faff.

We're building tech that meets people where they are, and makes safety part of the everyday. This is one more step in that direction.

Important observations are missed or buried in paperwork

On busy construction sites, it’s easy for hazards and good practices to go unreported. Without a simple way to capture observations in real time, small issues become big problems, and opportunities to improve are lost.
